Fabric Panel & Co-ordinating Fabric and Piping
What was your inspiration?
We have a new little boy coming into the family, maybe on Christmas Day, so I made this crib quilt for
him.
What are you most proud of?
The colours are wonderful and playful. As this is for a baby, I had to do more quilting however the panel
and co-ordinating fabrics make is so quick and easy. I couldn't get an answer as to what colour the room
was going to be so this quilt would fit in any room.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
After finishing the top of the quilt, I put the piping binding on first, then put the quilt batting behind it and
the backing fabric on top. With a zipper foot, I sewed accross the top and then down each side (note - make sure you flip the quilt over when going down the other side as it will pucker at the bottom if not using
a long arm quilting machine). I then sewed accross part of the bottom leaving a opening to turn the quilt after I trim the corners. I hand stitched the opening after turning the quilt.
