Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Weekend Shawl »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Formal / Bridal, Casual, Cute, Whimsical, Traditional, Retro / Vintage, Classic, Holiday, Romantic, Mod

Materials

Sanguine Gryphon Gaia Fingering Yarn in Color: Sundogs; US 9/ 5mm 40/ 100cm circular needle

What was your inspiration?

I designed and knitted the original version of this pattern in less than 48 hours as a last-minute gift to my godmother.

What are you most proud of?

How simply beautiful the combination of lace patterns turned out. Also, because of the way the shawl is shaped, it does not slide off your shoulders and does not require a shawl pin to hold it in place.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's a fairly easy first lace project. I don't recommend that you kill yourself to get it done in less than 48 hours, but it's nice to know that you can if you need to, right? ;)

It would make such a nice gift. I think I'm ready to move on from medium difficulty to intermediate. This shawl I would tackle. Lovely.

This shawl is probably one of the prettiest things I've seen...and nice to know someone can make it too! Very well done!
