Instructions

For embrodering the train, I used 2 layers of Aqua-Magic stabilizer.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

silk crepe for the dress and English netting for the train.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted a wedding gown that was confortable and worry free and something that would challenge my skills. I chose this pattern because it was a bias cut pattern. The silk crepe I used was buttery soft and molded to my body, Very comfortable. I also wanted to show off my machine embrodery skills so Ipurchased a soft, drapey English Netting and used that for the train. I wanted to look like a Greek Godess walking down the isle with my husband.

What are you most proud of?

That day I felt like the most important person in the world to my husband and he looked at me with admiration and love.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Working with bias cut patterns can be extremely difficult for a begining sewer. My advice is use good shears to cut out the project and use paper under the fabric to prevent slipping during the cutting process. Use a tear-away stabilizer to stitch the seams and use the correct needle in your machine along with good thread.
