What was your inspiration?
My customer was petit and very cute with wavy hair, so I wanted the dress to have some "cuteness" to it. I chose to make the braids with ivory and red charmeuse and beaded the braids with tiny swarovsky crystals. She wanted some small red details and red shoes. I also chose the jaquard woven charmeuse on the bust to get some texture to the dress, if not i think it would have been a little dull.
What are you most proud of?
The braids :) I think they complemented her perfectly!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be careful when working with charmeuse. It has a tendency to live its own life when cutting it. If possible, drape your working table with plastic table cloth and pin the fabric to the cloth before cutting. This keeps it in place.
