What was your inspiration?
Maggie Austin's cakes are beautiful so I was thrilled when she offered this craftsy class. The instruction is very clear and easy to follow.
What are you most proud of?
For my first attempt, I am very pleased with the outcome. Since I was making this cake for a wedding, the bride requested an all white frilled cake.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Allow plenty of time and you will be thrilled with the result. I would encourage you to follow Maggie's instructions carefully, including keeping the cake cold and the room temperature cool. By doing these things, I had no problems flipping the cake and the frills dried easily.
