What was your inspiration?
I was always interested in weaving projects. I browsed many pictures from other crafters and I was amazed how the finished project came out. I started with my pastel paper and knew that I could use that with my weaved baskets. All I had to do was supply the base of the project was easy to do because I had empty half gallon jugs of milk and empty boxes and containers that I stashed for craft projects.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of my imagination and that I can come up with unique and out of the box creations that people hae commented on my crafts and complemented how unique they were. I have been a deep thinker most of my life and and when I see art and wonder how did they do that.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I would say first of all, be patient. The old saying " at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again" is so right. When I started to weave paper I was so frustrated keeping the paper straight and having the weaved rows in line. After a while I got a brilliant idea, that was to tape the top and bottom rows to a sturdy base so that the other strips of paper would weave in and out without any problem.
