Weave-it Wabbit

Weave-it Wabbit

Weave-it Wabbit

Instructions

Created from six 15cm Weaveit squares, sewn to form the body parts, soft foam in the head & body then sewn together.

Difficulty:

Category: Weaving

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

Scrap wool, anything soft, fluffy and greyish brown.

What was your inspiration?

I recently bought the Weave-it loom and wanted to try textured wool on it. Once I had the soft , fluffy squares I didn't want to waste them so being close to Easter time making a rabbit seemed appropriate.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Plan the project before you start so all the squares are a simitar colour.

I'm going to experiment as well. Lots of yarn bits to use! THanks!

Just had a thought which might help you, I wove it using the diagonal method with a crochet hook which probably made it much easier than trying to pull a threaded needle through.

This is the neatest thing! I had my Weave-it out yesterday. What size yarn was the wool you used? I've used fingering and sock yarns but not anything thicker.

It's a mixture of 5 & 8ply, & some first attempts at handspun which varied greatly in thickness. Basically any soft fluffy scraps that I had. At times I even used 2 wools at once. I was just playing around to see what effect I got but when I liked the result I didn't want to just throw them out.
