Royce's Jewelry Box - Wave Necklace
Instructions
This necklace and earrings were made with stainless steel wire. It's a bit harder to work with due to it's stiffness, but holds shape very well. I used a step plier to make the curves in the necklace/earrings. The small wrapping was done with 24 gauge nickel coated copper wire. Make the frame of stainless steel first then start the wrapping with the 24 gauge wire. This is when the beads are added.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
The stone dangle inspired this necklace. It was so pretty I wanted it to be showcased with a simple necklace.
What are you most proud of?
The over all design of this piece is simple yet striking. Contemporary design with a slight funky feel. Light weight and comfortable to wear.
I teach classes and my students have really enjoyed making this piece.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
When working with wire, mark the location on your pliers where you place the wire to make the bend. This way all bends will be the same. I used step pliers on this piece. The large side alternates with the small side to make the wave design. After the main section is shaped I hammered this slightly to harden the wire. This hammering also gives you a slightly flat surface to wrap your 24 gauge wire to when adding your beads.
