What was your inspiration?

The Waterfall Lace Cravat was inspired by the all of the stunning waterfalls that can be seen throughout the South. The beaded lace pattern used for the body of the scarf is reminiscent of the water falling and the ruffled ends give the feeling of the falls spraying out into a pond below. Some falls can be enjoyed from both sides, which inspired the reversible stitch pattern. Of course the beads add just the right amount of sparkle that a waterfall has. The cravat is completely reversible so it looks beautiful no matter how you decide to wear it!

What are you most proud of?

The beaded pattern is very simple to knit and is completely reversible so you can see the beads on both sides of the scarf.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be intimidated by knitting with beads. This pattern is very simple and the beads give the scarf/cravat a bit of sparkle so it is more of a knitted necklace than a scarf. It looks wonderful in a summery color like I have shown in beach glass or a more dramatic color in the deep blue. It would look wonderful knit up in black or deep charcoal with deep red beads, great for dressing up a simple black dress!!
