What advice would you give someone starting this project? This isn't difficult but it is exacting. I recommend cutting the separator strips and borders from the length of the fabric to stabilize this as the edges of the braids are all on the bias! Mark the trim lines for the braids first, then sew on the separator strips, then trim the braids. It will keep the braids from stretching into the next county. The author suggests you start with the first quilt in the book and work towards the more difficult ones. Probably a good idea! I started with the 11th (out of 13) so probably didn't do myself any favors.
