What materials did you use? cotton fabric, cotton thread, clear thread, wonder under, transparent paints and instruction from Annette Kennedy's Painted Pictorial Quilts.

What are you most proud of? I am proud that the quilt actually came out looking JUST like the picture - you can identify the children and I think I painted it pretty good for my first painted pictorial quilt

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Pick a subject you love, and practice painting on scraps of cloth identical to what you will be using.

Thank you Jen James - it was really such a fun project - when you love the subject it makes it well worth the time spent.

Another WOW!!! I think this may be my favorite from all of your posted pieces! I love the subject matter...the way you work with just everyday activity. Nothing posed, just going about the day stuff! Your execution is wonderful! Do you paint the entire surface? Or do you use some inspirational fabrics in the background foliage?

I use inspirational fabric but do a lot of painting for depth and contrast. Thank you for your lovely comment
