I started with a plain bib apron and added fabric and vintage hankies. I just made it up as I went along.
What was your inspiration?
I saw some walker totes here, made from a simplicity pattern. I live in a small town and can't run to get a pattern, so I started folding a little bib apron I had. I just kept adding pockets and strings. It was really fun to make. Now I want one for the inside of my large tote bags, for organizing contents, and one to go in the car for all those loose odds and ends. I can find all kinds of uses for it. Mostly, it was fun to make.
What are you most proud of?
I found some old vintage hankies and used different scallops and such to add to the romantic feel. It was all made from found objects and scraps.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just dive in and have fun. It will practically make itself. Starting with the little apron gave me a good starting place.
