Thanks every one.. it just seemed to work out like this.. I have to say i don't have a plan for most of my projects.. just sit down and start sewing.. cutting etc.. and as the project evolves I add another color or idea and I end up with an interesting quilt

Betty.. If you have signed up for the craftsy block of the month (its free) there is a dresden plate as part of the course.. it is the july block ..she shows how to make the wheel / plate and show how to make each blade.. in making this one .. I took the time to make a few strips sew them together.. and use the circle Dresden ruler.. I flipped the ruler over after each cut..to make the point on each one i sewed a seam across the end and pressed flat..
