What was your inspiration?
This quilt was inspired by first, the fabric itsself, "Prairie Rose" by Sue Daley, an Australian designer, for Riley Blake Designs. Secondly, it was inspired by Great-Grandmother Vivienne, who immigrated with her new American husband in the 1920's from Australia. She wrote an inspirational thought I keep in my sewing room: "I champion the right to be myself. Dare to be different and set my own pattern. Live my life and follow my own star." ~Vivienne
What are you most proud of?
The symbolism of this quilt and the tribute to Vivienne.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make sure to piece with an accurate 1/4" seam allowance so each border fits.
