Materials

cotton rose fabrics and vintage French ticking

What was your inspiration?

Romantic Rose Fabrics

That I brought myself to part with it and give it away. You can read about the how and why here:

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Lay all the pieces out exactly as you want them and when sewing keep putting the various bits back into place and the logical sequence of sewing becomes clear very quickly.

Beautiful job, love the rose affect. Did you hand or machine quilt this lovely piece?

It was machine quilted in straight lines, using red thread!

This is absolutely beautiful. The use of grid quilting gives the impression of many many tiny blocks. Great idea. Love your work.

I have just started my own quilt top following Sarah's technique and it is a lot of fun. Your quilt is really beautiful, especially the striped fabric combined with vintage roses!

I found this quite by accident (thanks, Craftsy) and investigated your blogspot, which is just fantastic.. I cannot come up with better words than diversified, fascinating and it will be time consuming for me when I get a cup of tea and sit and drool........ what a talent you have, in so many areas. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Your blog is very inspiring.

I made a quilt like this once. It was all partial seam pieced. Is that how you did it?
