1.) Choose something that you'd like to give a distressed look, either bare wood or a piece that is already painted. If you use a frame or furniture that has paint already on it the original colour will show through.(for this tutorial we'll use a picture frame as an example.) 2.) Use a paint brush or foam poly brush to cover the front and edges of the picture frame with wood glue. Apply one even coat, not too heavy, just enough to completely cover the surface. 3.) Let glue set for about 5 minutes. You do not want to let it dry completely, just so it has a slight skin on the surface. 4.) Apply a top coat of acrylic or latex paint, using a clean paint brush, in any colour you prefer. Make sure it is solid and all areas are covered. 5.) Set aside to dry. As the paint drys it will start to separate, giving the appearance of aged paint!
