Viking Knit hoop earrings

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Viking knit Chain »

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

This simple, sleek design is surprisingly light weight. I have used double Viking knit for the body of the hoop, which holds its shape due to the core wire running through the knit. The earring is secured closed with a hinged earwire, which allows the earring to swing freely, whilst closing easily and securely. The earrings are made with copper wire and measure 1 1/8" across the outer edge. I have used the same techniques to construct the hoop frame as taught in my Kiss Kross Earrings tutorial: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/jewelry/Earrings/Kiss-Kross-Hoop-Earrings/4860

These earrings are a combiation of my Viking chain tutorial and my Kiss Kross hoop earrings tutorail (both available here on Craftsy). I formed the chain and then ran the hoop frame wire through the centre of the knit, finishing the hoop earrings in the same way as the Kiss Kross earrings!
