What materials did you use? Cotton damask, spiral steel boning

What are you most proud of? Just the overall look of the corset. It's great for wearing under costumes, but looks great on the outside over a pretty blouse.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try to have a lot of patience. Also, always make a mock up of your corset first to check the fit. And check the fit as you go. Most importantly, I think, don't rush, take things slowly!

I never would have considered using a damask for a corset - it looks stunning, great idea :)

Thanks. I used to work for a dry cleaners and lots of the table cloths we cleaned were made of damask. I was given all the old things with holes in them for sewing, and I used one to make my very first corset. It was quite pretty, so when I walked past some of it on sale in the shops I knew exactly what to do with it!
