It was my first attempt at re-upholstery! In the deep end! found excellent book via Amazon, "The Upholstery Bible" by Cherry Dobson. Followed through her excellent step-by-step instructions. My darling son Alex helped immensely with the 'twiddly' bits!

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Retro / Vintage, Traditional, Classic

Materials

herringbone webbing, cut tacks, hessian scrim, metal springs, horsehair, cotton wadding, cotton upholstery calico, silk upholstery material, decorative gimp, glue gun

What was your inspiration?

to re-upholster this chair! It had been sitting around for @ 4 years, after a rather well-built gent plonked himself on it and broke thru old upholstery!

What are you most proud of?

To do such a professional job start to finish as my first attempt at upholstery.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Go for it! Use the book I mentioned earlier. Brilliant help, as was dear Alex, thanks Darling!
