Followed the instructions on the pattern for construction. Next time I will attach the lining mostly by hand, as this allows for more precision..Difficulty:

Materials
This vest was made from an upholstery fabric in my stash. I purchased an inexpensive lining fabric from the big box fabric store in my city.
What was your inspiration?
My son requested a vest for going to see the movie, The Hobbit, with a friend of his. He found this fabric in my stash and wanted the vest to be made in this fabric.
What are you most proud of?
The speed with which I was able to make this vest. My son was very happy with it. I considered it to be more of a muslin (practice), as I had never made a man's vest before. I do need to practice welt pockets a bit before proceeding to better fabric.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Study tailoring techniques. I was not too pleased with the way the lining went in (sew lining to outer layer with right sides together, turn, then stitch shoulders together). This left way too much room for error in my opinion. The couture way of hand-sewing the lining seems much better to me.
