Oh... I've been thinking of doing this very thing. Your Very Hungry Caterpillar is VERY recognizable! And the Butterfly is beautiful!

This is wonderful and your quilting skills are super. I have only ever done stitch in the ditch as i am too nervous to try anything else.

Desna, you should take the machine quilting course! You just need to practice, practice, practice. And don't be afraid if something is not perfect. I felt just like you do.

I love the motion in this quilt. It inspires me as I begin this class.

I have done a bit of machine quilting before this class, but wanted to try some of Wendy's good suggestions. I used a walking foot initially, to "stitch in the ditch" as a framework for the center panel pictures. Changed thread color to outline the caterpillars, using free motion foot, then went to white thread to quilt around the three objects, sort of echo quilting or trying to imitate a caterpillar's movements. I tried all kinds of free motion techniques in the colored circles, even signed my name. Really have to look for any of that. Then changed to red thread to outline the design in the outer border. And put a few stars in there... it was a lot of fun, and I feel more confident now. Thanks, Wendy!
