Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. Crust: 2oz walnut oil, 6 oz Earth Balance, 18 oz white flour, 4 oz whole wheat pastry flour, 2 Tbls brown sugar, 4 oz cold water 11 small organic apples, pinch salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 Tbsp vanilla, zest from one large orange, 2 Tbls tapioca flor, 1 Tbs. What are you most proud of? That flavor combo is really intoxicating.

I used 2 oz of walnut oil for the first "pea" stage, and then earth balance sticks. They must do something to make the stick more like a shortening to hold the stick shape. This was the best one I have ever baked. I used to make the pie dough in a food processor, and it was way too uniform. I did this one by hand and I really liked that method you taught us. And this is the first one I rolled out on a cloth. Much better. I'm going to try the lattice on a cherry pie next.

It looks wonderful. Did you ever try the more solid coconut oil?

I haven't yet, but I plan to try that one too. Did you try it? If so please let me know which brand and how it turned out.

I'm so glad you thought my technique was useful and successful for you.
