What was your inspiration?

I love making useful items and different types of bags are a weakness of mine. :) I made both the tote and zipper pouch and then decided that I had to make more for family and friends (I only got pictures of two of them before being gifted...)

I have an older book that I rescued from my mom's sewing room. It gave me the idea to make a puzzle pieced stitch sampler. So I decided to use it on the brown and blue bag. I gave it to one of my music colleagues as a thank you & Christmas present.

I didn't really do the January BOM all that well so I decided to keep trying. That bag was a Christmas gift for my mom. :)

What are you most proud of?

I think it's so much fun to use a simple project as a springboard to explore other things. I've been kind of squeemish about trying out the cams and it took me while to figure out how to get the settings just right. However, it's totally worth it. This opens up a lot of cool ideas for other projects. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The bags themselves are easy and very straightfoward. Kristin is very thorough on the instructions. The tote is quick to make too. It has a bunch of potential for variations! That tulle tote pattern could probably be adapted on this bag too.... Hmmm... Let your imagination soar. :)

BTW, you can easily have fun with these projects just with fabric choices. Thank you Craftsy for offering such a fun, easy, and useful class! It's awesome!
