Instructions

This project was very time consuming. Think out your plan of action before diving in.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Formal / Bridal

Materials

Pink chiffon with a knit lining to match.

What was your inspiration?

The bride ( whom I affectionately call my sister form another mister...also a co-worker) wanted this gown for her bridesmaids.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proud of the fact that she and all of her bridesmaids were happy with their dresses. As a seamstress, we can see things that should've been or could've been when others can't. There were a lot of should've, could've "sitings", but she was proud.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Do not commit to making a project of this magnitude unless it is well thought out. These bridesmaids were from out of town and couldn't gt in for a FIRST fitting until the day/night before the wedding. This was very stressful. I had my own literal sweat shop the night before. I totally underestimated the time it would take to create all six dresses, the detailed flowers, and the alterations. NEVER AGAIN without a better plan of action.
Even still, the wedding was beautiful!!
