Urban Amish Stroller Quilt

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Machine Quilting Negative Space »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Hipster, Funky

Materials

cotton solids, batting, 30wt top thread, 60wt bobbin thread, both Superior polyesters

What was your inspiration?

I love Amish quilts, and wanted to try to achieve an intersection of color and texture that combines the classic elements of simple design and modern style.

What are you most proud of?

First full on all-over quilting on my domestic home machine, 36x45" and really got into a good rhythm. Ready to take on a larger all-over project!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Oh my gosh, have fun!

Thanks so much, Deb...what I'm aiming for is integrating my yearning for history with my desire for the modern look...good times!

Wow, it is a combination of the new (the quilting) and the old, the Amish influence. It is stunning.
