Can I do this using a "regular" sewing machine. I don't have a serger.

It may depend on your sewing machine and what it can do, I think. The serger pretty much "seals" the edge of the seam, so that you don't have many loose ends or fraying or strings coming loose. The sewing machine probably doesn't have a stitch that does that (but maybe yours does?). So you can certainly cut and piece sweaters together, but the seams may not be as steamlined/exact/pretty. Hi! I have been collecting sweaters for a bit now and would really love to do something like this. Do you offer a class on this or a pattern? Also one person asked about a regular sewing machine and edges. If they straight stitch before cutting it will ensure no ravel; then they can bring pieces together and use their zigzag stitch.
