Apron & wine gift bag
What materials did you use?
Long sleeved man's shirt
What are you most proud of?
That it's a fun, funky and unique gift.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just buy a shirt from a yard sale and try it.
so great! I saw one on Indygo Junction and loved it but haven't be brave enough to try.
I had to make 2 before I got it right and I did not have a pattern.
This is brilliant! I am definitely going to figure this one out. I am very much into up-cycling/repurposing clothing. It is a blast going shopping in my family's seldom-used clothing to see how I can use it differently.
It also makes a "personal" gift that is useful and unique.
how do I get a pattern for this shirt? I would like to leave some of the back on the shirt. Joan
I just use an XL man's shirt and cut away as much as you want. There is no pattern. You can buy shirts at yard sales and experiment with them to make your own unique design.
I want to figure out how to make these shirt/bibs for our veterans home. We have been making bibs for years for them but most fabric donated is girly. I figure the shirts would be made with boyish fabric and everyone will be happy
