Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Hipster, Casual, Classic, Mod, Eco-Friendly, Cute, Whimsical, Funky

Materials

An old pair of Levi's jeans from my closet.

What was your inspiration?

I had this pair of jeans in my closet since high school. I figured I'd never starve myself long enough to fit in them again so I decided to wear them a different way...

What are you most proud of?

I get compliments on it every day and am now selling them on Esty and a local crafts store.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use a heavy duty industrial sewing machine and thread. Have fun!

great idea, I also made a bag out of my grand daughter's denim skirt. made a belt and handles out of an old camel color suede jacket. Put the belt through the loops of the skirt waist. It came out adorable and got so many compliments.

I made one out of my Grandson's favorite Levis. He was so upset he outgrew them. So I made a bag and use it daily. He looked at me ad said "Oh Nana... Your too funny!" He is 6 And I love my bag.

LOL...guess I should've saved my 'hip huggers'. Was the show Jane's Sew and So? Her projects are basic and easy.

Thank you! I go the idea from a TV show a long time ago (can't remember which one), then I added my own personal twist.
