Union Jack Bunting

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Union Jack Bunting »

Instructions

The basic flag pattern is quite simple using (UK) double crochet stitches and decreasing at the beginning of most rows.
The Union Jack flag is made using a tapestry crochet technique which is a bit fiddly and can get the three balls of wool into a bit of a tangle, but untangling them at the end of every other row makes it easier.

What was your inspiration?

It is a Jubilee and Olympic year in the UK and the Union Jack flags are flying everywhere. I thought it would be great to crochet some bunting to decorate the house and garden.

What are you most proud of?

I am really proud of writing the pattern and mastering the technique of tapestry crochet. It is really lovely that the flags are the same on both sides and that there is no sewing in of messy ends.
