What materials did you use? Threads (heavy cotton, rayon, metallic), yarn, perle cotton, cords, paint for the fish, beads

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just let your imagination run wild -- there are no mistakes with this technique. Although it is somewhat tedious to stitch out a "Stitch Bible" -- I stitched out 560+ stitches and didn't even stitch them all out -- it is really worth the effort. I would suggest using different threads -- I used a different thread for each page.

Lovely. I;ve never seen material like that. Is it batik? The stitches really give it an underwater look.

Thanks. It is a batik -- I believe it's a hand-dyed piece I bought at a quilt show.
