Instructions

This pattern is available as an e-pattern and a traditional paper pattern on my website and Etsy shop.

This doll was designed for the magazine Doll Crafter & Costuming ~ an abridged version of the pattern is in the September 2009 issue, page 14

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Whimsical

Materials

fabric, polyfil, upholstery trim, acrylic paint and colored pencils

What was your inspiration?

I received a request for an autumn themed doll pattern. I wanted the doll to have detail, but not be so complex that beginning to intermediate dollmakers couldn't complete her.

What are you most proud of?

That she was published, and is currently one of my most requested patterns. I've used this pattern for other dolls (including the Hoffman Challenge, and was awarded second place). I'm also really thrilled when people who have used my pattern send me photos of their completed dolls.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be comfortable with your sewing machine. Don't rush through the project, and don't be intimidated by the face details.

Thanks! I find making a doll a lot less intimidating than a quilt ;-)

I love everything about this doll. The amount of work that went into it, from color choices to design details, is not only noticeable, it screams brilliantly.

Thank you so much. She turned out just like the picture in my head (and that's rare!)
