What was your inspiration?

Nothing shouts Summer to me than sitting under an outdoor awning sipping Ice Tea. I kept thinking "what if", well that what if came with a mild winter and beaming sunlight on my south east exposed windows. I then thought, "why not one for inside my home" I then would feel like I was UNDER COVER all year long.
I love the look, I will now be replacing all of my window treatments with these awnings... Still to cool for any Ice tea, so why not join me for a hot cup of joe. Today I am pouring Sumatra Reserve,

What are you most proud of?

Well simply put, my vision, became a lovely reality. When I come into my kitchen, I am welcomed with
what is there to EAT.....

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Any sewer will know the most important part of making anything is MEASUREMENTS. In my attempt to make this Indoor Awning, I measured over and over again....For instance , I measured the inside of the cupboards and noted 41 inches exactly, This was perfect, a 45 Width of fabric is perfect, enough for side seams.
I also noted before I cut my fabric, I had someone assist me to fold the top for the pocket seam and then we stretched out the fabric to the fold line where it will be draped and allowed for an extra 4 inches....Always easier to cut then be short. This allowed for a perfect drape of the awning part. Also when you are placing letters, be sure to find your centre, by folding your fabric in half and place your centre letter first and work
from right to left. This will ensure you have your appliqu words perfect. YOU will need some like of fusible interfacing, if you do not have this, it will bottom out like a hammock. I have taken plenty of photos 19 in total, follow my directions and you too will get perfect results. I am here if you need any help...
