Instructions

The book teaches you a basic block called a Bargello Block and you can use it in hundreds of ways depending how you turn the block. It is mostly strip piecing and not difficult.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

All cotton fabrics in fall colors. No other special tools needed

What was your inspiration?

Saw the author of the book on a sewing program on TV. I was amazed at how these quilts looked.

What are you most proud of?

All my seams match!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's really very easy, not sure I would recommend for a complete beginner, but certainly a confident beginner.

Really pretty Autumn quilt; I especially like the central piecing with the bordering blocks. I wonder if you could just keep adding rounds of rows to make it bigger? Cool.

Gorgeous geometry! Love the colors and how the fabrics create a strong sense of movement even though the overall design is perfectly balanced to the extent of being almost rigid. The overall effect is stunning, and of course, the craftsmanship is pure perfectionism on display.

Thanks so much for your comment. The "geometry" really comes from the sashing and cornerstones, the rest is just 16 blocks all created the same but turned differently. Craftsmanship, well..., I've got a ways to go!
