A niece gave birth to twins, so they must have quilts. I love bright fabrics for babies so chose these. Each quilt is different, yet similar due to the fabric.

I simply must tell you that the little girls have received their quilts and they absolutely Love them! They recently had sore throats and they specifically asked for the 'comfy cozies' How wonderful to begin another generation on a journey in the love of quilts!

Mimi, For some reason, I couldn't get this comment to post, so I am going to paste it here. I just posted a picture of the schematic I used. I hung it right in front of my sewing machine so that I would not get lost. When the blocks are side by side, you will achieve that 3D look. The first border is made up of small 4 patch with a triangle on each end. There is a small border between the main blocks and the first border. Then there is a bit wider border, then the piano key edge border and then the binding. On this quilt the backing is the same bright green I used in the binding. Hope this helps! Enjoy making your quilt.

Thank you so much. I drew the pattern up in Word, I will see if I can find a place to attach the drawing.

Ok, let's see, this is the only way I can figure out to get the pattern to you. This is a 16 patch block. Each square within the block is a half square triangle. Each square is a combination of a light and dark. The four corners the dark is to the outside. The two squares between the corner (still on the outside of the block are turned so the light is on top and the darks are on the bottom, but touching each other. The center is comprised of 4 squares arranged so that the very center is all light and the darks intersect with the outside darks. If this doesn't make sense or you have any questions, please let me know. I will be more than happy to help if I can. The most important thing is to have really high contrast. I used several different lights, but made certain that they were still light.

I love bright fabrics - for everybody, not just babies! These quilts are a knock-out and remind me of children's paintboxes. Brilliant!
