What are you most proud of? It's no secret that Mary Tucker (wiredelements) is one of my favorite designers. She's an amazing artist and I simply love the clear and precise lines of her gorgeous pieces. Her website and her flickr page are always well worth a visit. In November 2011 she published her Close Flat Twining Guide. Since then I wanted to learn twining - I can't believe that it took me three years to finally try it. In her "Twining With Wire Lesson Jewelry Tutorial" (https://www.etsy.com/listing/93833834/twining-with-wire-lesson-jewelry) Mary teaches how to do the twining weave/technique. It's not a step-by-step-direction how to make this bracelet. But this cuff is also one of her original designs (google "Twined Copper Button Cuff").

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Twining takes a lot of time and patience, but it's a great techique, very versatile and simply beautiful. If you want to see more examples what you can do with it, please have a look at Mary's Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiredelements/. You can find bascets, cuffs, earrings, pendants... - lots of beautiful things.

Thank you very much, Zsuso! I have great teachers :) . Most of my skills I've learnt from people like Mary Tucker (wiredelements) and Perri Jackson (shaktipajdesigns). I simply love their tutorials, and their work is always such an inspiration. Most of my pieces are inspired by theim. Like this bracelet: it's basically just a copy of Mary's gorgeous cuffs.

So beautiful, interesting. How do you make this woven bronze? Deborah

Thank you, Deborah! I've used a tutorial by Mary Tucker "Close Flat Twining Guide" but I think she doesn't sell it any longer. But flat tining seems to be a well known textile technique (or a techique in basketry). Mary Hettmansperger also has a chapter about twining in her "Fabulous Woven Jewelry" book. For this bracelet I'v used copper wire: 18g for the warp wires and 26g for the weft wire. Mary Tucker is a very helpful and generous person. She's "Wired Elements" on Facebook. If you have any questions about this technique she most certainly will help.
