I made this quilt for my youngest son. He has pet turtles, and I collect turtles.This is a simple quilt with 10 inch blocks alternating between two fabrics, sashed, and bordered. The size of quilt you want would decide size of blocks, sashing and borders. I machined pieced the quilt, but the quilt is completely hand quilted. What was your inspiration?
I wanted my youngest son to have something special I had made just for him.
What are you most proud of?
That I was able to completely hand quilt this quilt, even though it took me two years. I would work on it for a while, and then I would work on something else for a while.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a very simple pattern. The fabric is what gives it personality.
