What materials did you use? Cotton Twill Fabric

What are you most proud of? The fit, the back pocket detail and the freedom to do creative details like using a batik printed fabric for my inside front pocket bag. I'm also proud of the fact that I actually succeeded the first time out. I'm still learning though and will continue to perfect the process with my next pair.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be patient and go slowly. If something you see in a lesson seems complicated, go back and watch it again. Don't be cheap with your silk organza, you may find it difficult to find your true cross grain if you do. I tore mine selvage to selvage and it ended up in a diagonal line that no amount of pulling, pressing etc.. would correct. Gridded pellon pattern making fabric will also work for your copy draft if you are careful.and use a lot of pins. Definitely choose a contrasting thread when marking your original jeans.I initially used red on blue and couldn't see it very well. Yellow or white thread would have been a better choice.

Great job on your jeans...and in MY favorite color! Had a peek at your other projects, too. You are a great seamstress! I'm still hesitating making my jeans although I've had the fabric for a couple of years, now. Most recently, I attended the Saskatchewan Stitches Conference where I learned how to finish a pair of tartan trousers for my DH from Ron Collins and also how to make a new style of bra and a COMFORTABLE sports bra from Beverly Johnson; both fantastic instructors. Keep up the good work! I love your Bird gown!
