What materials did you use? Cotton Batiks

What are you most proud of? That I finished it before July was over and most of the points match (don't look too closely). It is my second attempt because the first, frustrating one did not come together right--I think the 60 degree angles weren't cut on 60 degree angles. I am pleased with the way it turned out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Watch and rewatch Laura's video and take it step-by-step. I found her advice of laying it all out on the board very important and actually necessary because it was very easy to mix pieces up and sew them together wrong. I will make some more of this block--someday.

Thanks. I started with the yellow batik I fell in love with at my rare visit to Peggy's Heirloom Quilt shop in Ocala, FL. Rare, because I have a ton of material already,(Yes, dear, I know), I do have to watch my spending, and it's on the other side of town . She has a wonderful collection of batiks to beautiful to mention.
