The scarf is a gift for a friend - shh!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The instructions are in Finnish but there is a chart to find out the pattern.

Here is the English version (but please check the chart as well in case there are mistakes in my instructions):

Cast on 40 stitches.

1st row (wrong side):
K3, P3, K2, P3, K2, P6, K2, P6, K2, P3, K2, P3, K2

2nd row (right side):
K6, P2, yarn over, slip 1, *knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over*, slip 1, P2, K3, knit 2 together, K1, slip 1, P2, slip 1, K1, *slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over*, K3, P2, slip 1, *knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over*, slip 1, P2, K6

3rd row (wrong side):
K3, P3, K2, P3, K2, P6, K2, P6, K2, P3, K2, P3, K2

4th row (right side):
K6, P2, yarn over, K3, P2, K2, knit 2 together, K1, slip 1, K1, P2, K1, slip 1, K1, *slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over*, K2, P2, K3, P2, K6

5th row (wrong side):
K3, P3, K2, P3, K2, P6, K2, P6, K2, P3, K2, P3, K2

6th row (right side):

Repeat the rows 1 to 8 as many times as you like.

When the scarf is ready, sew the ends to create a loop.

It depends of the yarn. With Puro yarn I used needles size 5.

Just do it! It is not difficult. There must be some knitting clubs or yarn stores near you. They will help. Or check the internet (e.g. Youtube).
