A combination of several Flora threads and Lizbeth thread, all size 20. The beads are size 4mm, 3mm, and size 11/0 seed beads.
What was your inspiration?
A new t-shirt in a bright peachy-tangerine color. It seemed like a tropical color, so I wanted a necklace to match. I found some Flora thread in my stash that matched the color perfectly! But, I wanted more than just one color, so I sorted through my stash of thread and beads to find more colors to compliment it. I started out tatting from a vintage pattern but that only served as a springboard for new ideas. Inspiration came to me as I tatted, so I just went with the flow!
What are you most proud of?
The rings layered on top of the chains - I like the dimensional effect there.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I don't have the pattern written up yet, but hope to soon. I'll edit this description when the pattern is available. The main flower used just one shuttle and the ball of thread, so it's not that hard. The neck cord uses 2 shuttles and has split rings. But a metal jewelry chain could be substituted for the tatted one in order to have a flower pendant.
