Scrap Quilting

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Scrap Quilting »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Holiday, Classic

Materials

Fat Quarters from my stash.

What was your inspiration?

Besides watching Pepper Cory's Scrap Quilting video where she makes a travel pillow, I was challenged by a quilt group to make a quilt using only squares. This is the top I made in one day! It will measure 16 inches square when it's finished.

What are you most proud of?

What I'm most proud of is that I didn't use a pattern, did very little planning with regard to picking out fabrics and used a fun technique to piece the top.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Arm yourself with a seam ripper! It's the tool that makes this project so easy to piece! In the next few days, I will provide the name of my blog where I will provide the details on my fun technique.

Good job --- I have to get with the program. A few odds and ends to finish up first then I want to do Puss in the Corner. Like your fabrics a lot and I am not a brown/beige print person, so the wine and other colors really make it special. Enjoy!
