Instructions

Found pattern on Baby Lock website under free projects. Demonstration was on Fons & Porter Love of Quilting PBS TV show #1812. List of supplies is found on the Fons & Porter website. The demonstration called for Texture Magic. I didn't have any, so I just quilted a piece of fabric to use for the wallet cover.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Cute, Funky, Casual

Materials

Cotton fabric, interfacing, & thread, buttons, 3/8" elastic, zipper, Wonder Tape, pony tail holders

What was your inspiration?

Demonstration on Fons & Porter Love of Quilting.

What are you most proud of?

I actually made a functional wallet for my sewing supplies. I was disappointed because nowhere in the instructions showed a picture of the inside of the wallet. I had recorded the TV show and was able to go back to it. The instructions don't match what was shown on TV, which made this project more difficult because there were some neat tips on the TV show. I will make this again and if I have Texture Magic, will try using it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a fun project.

Nice functional project. I think I like it better without the Texture Magic, although I haven't tried it. I wasn't crazy about the look. I like the look of your quilting on the outside of the wallet better.

I saw this on F&P, too, and thought it seemed very complicated but useful. Love the fabrics you used!

Thanks Deborah. There are quite a few pieces and without a picture to go by, it was tricky trying to remember the TV show so I was glad I had it recorded. I really like the zipper tip.

Such a great idea! Especially nice for travel. I think the quilted cover works just fine.
