What was your inspiration?
I really love musical artists who also filled the role of social advocate. I have always been inspired by the music and life of Nina Simone. I love her face and wanted to create tribute cameos of her.
What are you most proud of?
The design feel of the Nina cuff and pendant. The beautiful contrasts in the images and the African tribal fabrics that serve as the back drop.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun and think about using images of people who inspire you especially mothers and grandmothers.
