What was your inspiration?
I started experimenting with modular knitting after trying out a pot holder designed by Vivian Hoxbro and have not stopped. I have developed my own technique of knitting each modular piece with motifs using different patterns and putting together motifs for each design in a unique way. A number of designs displayed on ravelry and etsy are modular in nature.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of the fact that now I am being recognized as a designer of knitwear and my designs are being published in magazines and websites.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Modular designs are really very easy to work and this one although looks complicated is fun to knit. To begin with knit a small swatch with just two rows of motifs to calculate the width and length of each motif and also to learn to put them together.
