What was your inspiration?
I love all things Celtic and the tree of life pendants are just one small part of the Celtic traditions and folklore that I enjoy.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of the fact that, while I have only been making the trees for a short time, I've improved greatly. In fact, at a recent Art Fair, they were a big hit! (as they are on my ArtFire and Etsy sites) Not only have my designs improved, I've changed the look of the frames entirely!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
First: Google several different trees as well as directions. The directions are there, trust me! Second: don't try to make the wire conform to your concept of a tree; bend with it. (This has been the most difficult for me as I am a self professed control freak!) Third: celebrate all of your trials and experiment with different gemstone chips and wire gauges/colors. Fourth: use whatever shape you want for the frame, keeping in mind that it will be used as a pendant. I've made ovals, circles, and rectangles. I tried a heart - didn't like it - too, weird....
Just play and have fun!
