The ground under the tree was stitched by three overlapping "wobbly" lines. It really gives some wonderful texture to the quilt, and also feels very soft to the touch. Let me know if you give it a try! I wrote about this quilt on my blog in a series of posts here: http://mandalei.com/category/tree-of-life-quilt/

love it. Is this the actual pattern used in Mandy Leins longarm class? I have wanted to do this pattern for ages. It has a multitude of possible outcomes in colorways as well as quilting designs. Where yours are fall colors, spring or summer could be the focused colors. I truly would like to do the 4 seasons but do not have enough stick-to-it in me to get there.

This is actually from a drawing I made and was a custom quilt for a customer. In the class, you learn the methods to make your own patterns from a drawing, create the fabric pieces, and then how to finish it on the longarm.
