Tell us more about what inspired you. After finishing the Winter Jacket I thought the pattern (modified) would make a nice travel vest. I have a Scott vest that is too small so I wanted something that have lots of pockets on the lining side so I wouldn't have to carry a handbag. I had bought some ultra suede in Portland OR in June which I thought would work well in a vest and I had lots of faux suede in my stash that complemented the blue/grey of the ultra suede.

Do you have a pattern for this great vest? I LOVE vests. Annemrie

Annemrie. This vest was an adaptation of a winter jacket pattern I'd just finished. It wasn't just a matter of removing sleeves, I had to add a bust dart on the armhole as well as change the bottom. So I can't point you to a pattern, sorry,

Thank you. I will look for a pattern to alter. I am sure I can figure something out. Annemarie

Can you post a picture of the inside showing the pockets? I'm making man's travel vest using a simple pattern and would like some ideas on how to do the pockets.

Randy, since I made the vest I've revised the neckline because when I loaded the pockets the vest pulled on my neck so I cut it down in the back and front. I've added photos of the front inside pockets - there are eight of them: they are either zippered or closed with velcro, and there is one in the middle of the back for carrying cash. If you have a large bundle, it shows - a few bills are invisible. My interior pockets were determined by the fact that the vest has a princess seam in the front - so my pockets were sized to be incorporated into that seam - hence the 8 pockets.

One other thing - the pockets are applied to the lining before the lining and outside were put together.

Thank you, the pictures are helpful and I like the lower neckline too.
