What are you most proud of? I'm very pleased with the professional look of the completed bag. I'm proud of the extra details I incorporated, like the applique, piping, key-leash, and the really cool origami pocket I took from Studio Cherie's Departure Satchel pattern. I'm looking forward to making a colorful quilty version next!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun choosing fabrics and take it one step at a time!

I'm sure the straight of grain will work fine!

My girls travel a lot and they have so many different duffels, they are always buying new ones. Now I can find the colors they like as hot pink and black and make them this one, Thank you for something large. Have a blessed day. Thanks so

How mant layers of cotton batting did you use?

Did you bind the edges before assembly?

I was also wondering if you bound the edges before or after assembly. BEAUTIFUL bag. I thought the handles were hand embroidered with a variegated thread before I saw the close up!

Thanks! I did bind the edges before assembly. Since I added a layer of unquilted canvas to the quilted lining, it was easier to bind first.
