What materials did you use? Cotton scraps, georgette, wool scraps, ribbons, braids and laces, buttons, beads, artificial flowers and leaves, embroidery threads. You can use anything you happen to have in your stash. Flowers and leaves were colored with paintsicks to get desired tones. Zipper and this one is lined in linen (which gave it a really nice finish). Buckram for body.

What are you most proud of? This bag has a zipped top which is a first for me. I am happy with the colour scheme, which was a bit of a first also as I usually let the bag tell me what colour next.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Forget the rules and listen to your heart. Everything and anything is ok. Remember tho that embellishments are best kept fairly flat and well sewn on. It is an accessory and intended to be used so best to keep that in mind when choosing. The base fabric is chopped up cotton scraps but can include lolly papers etc on a sturdy cotton base fabric with Georgette/chiffon over the top and quilted through. This bag has self fabric shoulder strap but you can use commercial handles also. I like the comfort and practicality of a shoulder strap.
