What an excellent idea! My new sewing machine has lots of fancy stitches and I hadn't thought of using them in the middle of the Dresden plate. It's really nice - particularly done in the variagated thread. My only problem would be guilding the machine so that the centre circle wouldn't have "corners"!

Love the flowers. So pretty. I am making pillow case dresses for our church and was thinking about using some decorative stitches. Off to the fabric store to get varigated thread. thank heavens it is on sale at Joann's.

I was thinking of using a decorative stitch and so glad to see someone else who already did it. Nice job, fabric.fan!

I used my machine to add a decorative heart chain around the center. I think it turned out really cute! and the varigated thread really pops the project!
